The Sheffield Sick Notes, Roger Simmons (Percussion, Guitar and Vocals), and Ray Kinsey (Guitar and Vocals), are no strangers to Dronfest. Up to 2016 they formed half of a lively (and loud) rock covers band which played at the festival several times. Since their band folded Roger and Ray are more likely to be performing, at only a slightly less frantic pace, at acoustic nights in pubs or at events around Sheffield and Dronfield. Their musical contribution today is likely to include a mixture of covers of rock, pop and folk classics including numbers originally by The Faces, Richard Thompson, Jeff Healey, and Steve Earle. “It’s really good to be back at Dronfest” says Roger. “It’s always been a great event which a lot of people work really hard to organize. As local musicians we are always happy to give our support”. Ray agrees, “Dronfest is a fantastic music festival with the added bonus of raising money for some very deserving causes.” Long may it continue!
