Dronfest’s 22nd Anniversary was fantastic
Who would have thought that a private party in 1999 would give rise to a community event that has spanned 23 years? During this successful tenure only two years were missed, 2003, and sadly 2020 due to the global Covid-19 Pandemic.
Bouncing back, Dronfest 2021 proved to be just what the doctor ordered, and Dronfield had a party to remember with everyone including stallholders, musicians and the people who came to enjoy the festivities all commenting on how much they had enjoyed the event.
To add to that, a total of £11,116.31 was raised on the day to distribute to local charities and groups; this brings the total raised over the years to a figure in excess of £116,000!
However, as the saying goes, “All good things must come to an end”, and so it is with a hint of sadness that the decision has been made to end on a high, and Dronfest 2021 was the grand finale to this event.
This started out as a family event and without the help and support of family and friends it would not have lasted so long.
I personally would like to thank everyone who has contributed in some way to making Dronfest, the successful event that it was.
Without you all, Dronfest would not have been able to support the local charities and community groups that it has raised funds for, I have seen first-hand the difference that the donations have made to the various organisations that we have supported, and I know that they are eternally grateful for your efforts.
To all of you who gave up your time to help, THANK YOU.
To all our sponsors and advertisers, THANK YOU.
To all of the musicians who entertained us, THANK YOU.
Finally, THANK YOU to everyone who bought tickets and attended the festival, I sincerely hope that you enjoyed it as much as we did.
So, here’s to me and my family signing off.
Once again THANK YOU!
